Lufthansa and Emirates expect to start flying Airbus 380 into India, after the government recently lifted the unofficial ban on the plane, as per a Wall Street Journal report by Santanu Choudhury. Executives at the airlines said they would make their decisions depending on their studies of the ability of the nation’s airports to handle the A380—the world’s biggest passenger jet. The Indian government on January 27 lifted the ban on A380 flights allowing airlines to start flying the aircraft to four airports namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The airports at these cities are equipped for handling the super jumbo jet A380.
